Care & Maintenance/ Newark bathroom reconstruction

Important Care Instructions:

  • Avoid Use: Do not use this surface for 24 hours after refinishing and bathroom remodel (at room temperature).
  • Removing Masking Paper: When peeling off the masking paper, do so slowly in an upward and outward direction, taking extra care around the drain piece.
  • Avoid Prolonged Contact: Do not place soap, bottles, or any objects on the finished surface for extended periods. It's best to use a shampoo rack instead.
  • Faucet Care: Ensure that your faucets are dry every evening, drain the shower pipes, and close the taps tightly. If you notice a leak, address it immediately. Make sure there’s no standing water in the tub after it drains, and allow the tub to dry completely a couple of hours after each use.
  • Regular Cleaning: During the curing period, clean and maintain the surface regularly with soap and a sponge (this is known as surface conditioning) to remove any dust that may settle.
  • Note on Imperfections: In older tubs, you may notice gouges or surface imperfections referred to as pinholes. While little can be done about these, they will not affect the overall quality of your bathroom upgrade.

Warranty

Our warranty is valid for three (3) years from the date of completion and covers any failure of the finish, such as peeling. If the fixture requires a touch-up within the warranty period, all work and materials will be provided at no cost to you. Please note that this warranty applies only to residential projects and does not extend to commercial work.

Care Instructions for Your New Finish

  • Cleaning:Do not use abrasive cleaners, as they will scratch the surface. Clean after each use with Scrubbing Bubbles (made by Dow), Fantastic, 409, Lysol Tub and Tile Cleaner, or Soft Scrub (without bleach, blue label). Regular cleaning is essential to prevent soap scum buildup.

  • Avoid Sharp Objects: Do not drop sharp objects on the finish, as this may cause chipping. If damage occurs, contact your refinisher immediately for repairs within 1-2 weeks.

  • Report Issues Promptly:If peeling, bubbling, cracking, or fading occurs, notify your refinisher within 1-2 weeks.

  • Fix Leaks:All leaky faucets must be repaired promptly to protect the finish from the eroding effects of dripping water, which can cause cracking and premature wear.

  • Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Destruction of the finish can occur from the use of acid-based compounds (such as drain openers and tile grout cleaners). Keep all chemicals (cosmetics, bleach, hair dyes, perfumes) away from the finish to prevent staining or damage.

  • No Rubber Mats: Do not use rubber mats, especially those with suction cups. Most mats can react negatively with the finish when exposed to hot water. If needed, contact your refinisher for a non-rubber slip-proof bath mat (if available) and remember to remove the mat after each use.

  • Sealing:The caulk line between the tub and tile must be properly sealed at all times. It is the customer’s responsibility to re-caulk the tub unless otherwise agreed upon in writing prior to the job. In some cases, the area around the drain must also be properly sealed. Rusted or recessed areas, particularly around the drain, are not guaranteed. Additionally, soap dishes, towel bars, and toothbrush holders are not guaranteed.

By treating your new bathroom remodel with respect and following these care instructions, your fixture will remain shiny and bright, providing you with many years of trouble-free service.
